The lira was trading at 1.5300 against the dollar compared with Monday's close of 1.5234. The benchmark November 16 2011 bond yield dropped to 9.07 per cent from Friday's close of 9.15 percent. The Istanbul stock index closed down 1.27 percent, to 53,269.54.
